NBC's life after Friends...

what do u guys think will happen to NBC once Friends ends its reign of supremacy in 2003?... CBS already has CSI on the rise Thu at 9 PM and Survivor holding strong at 8 PM... but when Friends leaves the 8 PM slot CBS may take hold of the "Must-See Thu" night of NBC...

I say bring Frasier back on Thu at 9 PM since it would then be its last season (2003-2004) and move Will & Grace to Friends' 8 PM slot... Srcubs by then should be a solid fit at 8:30 PM so Thu night for NBC could still hold on for a bit longer... Tue nights then can be filled up reality TV...

what do u guys think?... ideas? ... is NBC's Thu nights soon to be a memory?

Maybe this will help.......let's break it down into demographic possibilities.......

Who thinks the next show will be a sitcom? gameshow? reality show? drama? Maybe something more like "That's Incredible" or the old, old "Real People"??? (who knows)

If it's a drama or sitcom what age group will it target?? (i.e. same type of characters except oriented in midwest as opposed to metropolitan area?) Or younger audience in same area?? Or "30 something" audience to carry the age demographics of the Friends cast??? Could be interesting. How about the return of Magnum P.I.???? (One could only wish, eh??)

I hold that Will & Grace is not nearly as popular as many pundits call it as, the least deserving show to hold the Thursday 9pm slot. Once Friends is gone, W&G's ratings will drop like a stone.

What I think it should do is have two sitcoms from 8-9, and two dramas from 9-10. NBC could move The West Wing (a show I hate, but is undeniably popular) to the 9pm slot, and then there's ER (although that show will likely be gone too in a couple of years).

BTW, what in the world is the appeal of CSI? The acting sucks, the interjections of comedy are lame, and the cases are boring.

I dont know if NBC is keen on turning Thu night into one driven by drama... I doubt they would touch the killer WestWing/LawOrder combo on Wed... Thu has always been anchored by its comedy for NBC... I dont really see any comedies on the rise either... Scrubs is doing so-so... I guess we have to wait and see...
