Friends Series 7...more evidence for the bored

Just thought I'd let you all know about the article I spotted today in the English newspaper The Daily Mail. It concerned David Duchovny and his potential return for an eight (and final) series of the X-files. He has apparently been offered a record USD700k per episode. At the end of the article is the scentence "The offer comes after the six stars of Friends won an unprecedented UKP300k per episode deal."

I'm wondering whether "won" means "were offered" or "have accepted."

It might be the offer. I know they were looking for $500k, so that would be UKP300k, if my calculations are correct. Well, if they accept, it'll be all over before you know it.

Ian, The Daily Mail (If I recall) has been the source of many bogus rumors. Can you tell us *their* source for this? Otherwise, I'll just stack this up with all the other bogus rumors - in the trash can.

does anyone here really believe for a second there won't be at least a season 7? I'm sure they'll be only too pleased to top whatever alternative pay cheques any of them have waiting for them.

Don't get me wrong. I think they'll be one. I'm a little torn on the issue of whether I want to see one. But I don't think it's the issue of topping the paychecks. From what I've heard all around, I think it's more a matter of whether the cast, as a whole, wants to come back. I mean, maybe one or more of them are just tired of it, and see more attractive options elsewhere. No, I don't mean more money. Maybe they just want to do other roles, before they get typecast into their present roles. I personally think it's too late for that, but who knows?

She was also (along with Joey) the *nicest* Friend - she seemed to do a lot less bitching than the rest of them. Anyway, I have to go. Because Schwimmer likes playing unlikable characters. Every single movie roll he's taken has been for somebody who had very serious character flaws and a substantial lack of personal integrity. Courteney wanted to be likeable. David does not. Unfortunately, David seems to think that changing his character for the worse in midstream is an idea that works artistically. One general rule of sitcoms is that if you have a character who is provided to cause conflict and make an ass of himself, he does so from the beginning. They don't have him be very appealing and interesting and lovable for three years and then abruptly say "Oh, he's an asshole and always really was. We are just seeing his true colors now." Good GOD that's a bullcrap way of handling character development!

The changes in Ross seem to be due to other reasons. On June 4th Schwimmer was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly: "There was a cynicism that crept into Ross over the last couple of years. Then this year led to a midlife crisis. He wigged out at work. I liked him being out of control, trying to grasp on to anything or anyone. I find that really endearing."

The only other thing I've seen LK in is "The Opposite of Sex" when her character was definitely not a "ditzy" blonde! (and LK played her very well).

I quite agree about CCA though - she has done better than LK, but then LK has done a lot better than all the others.
