Ok, I had mixed feelings about this show. It was interesting, to say the least. But the way some of the characters were portrayed as their former selves, I didn't like most of it. For example:
Chandler: He was very boring! I couldn't even believe that he was supposed to be writing comedy! He seemed so serious about everything too. I think this was the worst character portrayed in this show but it did prove one thing to me.. Matthew Perry can really act! He went from being a funny person on a regular show to an all serious person. I mean, yeah... all it is, is reading lines. But he did it great!
Monica: This was comical and I liked it! I just don't want to see that Monica again on the show. It was too much. I liked the Monica now. But this one was indeed interesting for a show. I really liked it how she was a 30 year old virgin too. I did find it offensive a bit towards fat people (implying that she constantly eats with her constantly eating) but it was well played out. Also, the one thing I liked about Chandler was that he could look into someone (Monica) without all the outer beauty and still have something with them. Now that was great.
Joey: I liked this Joey. A little bit of the past Joey mixed in with the actor Joey. It's too bad that the same Joey couldn't be an every day character, but then again.. it probably wouldn't be the same either. My question is, since Joey is living on his own and paying his own rent.. how is Chandler doing it? Surely Joey can't be paying for him EVERY month!
Rachel: This one was ok. I think it would have been better off without seeing Barry cheat on her. I really didn't think that was necessary to put in this show. Of course, it made things interesting. I would have rather of seened Rachel seriously fooled around with Joey while she was married. But the whole "she was going to puke after the kiss" scene was hysterical. It had me dying laughing.
Ross: This one was good too. Him being married (Ben grew up pretty quick too, huh?) I loved it how he couldn't get his sex life into high gear either, but when the 3 some was mentioned, Carol was all up for it! The whol lesbianism worked well with this story line. And then him and Rachel? Interesting. Of course, others may have not liked it.
Phoebe: Unbelieveable! No, I'm serious! I didn't believe this character at all. It was so over exaggerated it wasn't even funny. The whol heart attack was done poorly too. Maybe it's because I'm used to seeing the weird Phoebe and this just seemed different, but I wasn't convinced. The only part I did like is how mean she was. I wouldn't of wanted to mess with her.
All in all, the show was good but I think it could have been done better. The basically took the "wha-if" situations, showed us exactly how it would have been and threw in the current situations in the "what-if" situations (aka, Chandler & Monica, Ross/Rachel, Carol the Lesbian, etc.) -Dan-
