That's a great lineup. And I agree with Tina; they want Will and Grace to anchor that 9:00 position because it will last longer. Friends has only one season ahead of it, and it isn't very good anymore.
I'm afraid the fact that it has NOT been considered for the 9:00 position is because the quality HAS gone down and the stars are too big for their britches. How much too big? So big that even I'm saying it. Honestly, if they drop the show, I don't think I'll do anything but give a disgusted shrug. I was an R&R fan who just adored Ross. Nobody has been backstabbed by this program more than I have, and it might be a relief to see it go down in a flamestorm of ego and greed. The stars are being very greedy, and the writing is so bad I think the worst of it might qualify as fanfic.
I'll be in the corner watching Niles and Daphne on Frasier. And my season two tapes.

The thing that I like about "Frasier" is that through the five or six seasons that it has been on, all the characters have remained *real*, three-dimensional people. Do they act crazy and neurotic sometimes? Yes. But you always walk away from that show feeling like you know people exactly like them. Unlike the status quo of this show where you walk away saying to yourself, "What a bunch of moronic, dysfunctional, one-dimensional quacks!"
Oh, and the other reason I like it is because I get to feel *some* of that old "R and R stuff" through Niles and Daphne. :)

That's one of the reasons why I don't really have a lot of patience for the attitude that any old thing that gets a laugh is automatically a good idea. The most classic sitcoms manage to get laughs without sacrificing characterization.

Alright, you guys are being way too cynical. I was starting to believe all the bickering about how people don't like friends as much and all that. So I started asking people that I know. The funny thing is, I ask them they still think the show is hilarious and enjoy it a lot. Why am I cynical? Because they turned my favorite character into a mental patient that *everybody* absolutely despises and turned the love affair storyline that enchanted me into a rather sick, twisted succession of mean-spirited, selfish head games. In their place they've given me a couple I'm supposed to embrace as the "real" romance, but they've made the woman so screechy and overbearing I want to hit her, and they've undercut the (very charming) man's effectiveness. The Ross and Rachel fans have just been told, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that there is *absolutely no interest* in resolving their storyline EVER. They ended the sixth season, knowing damned well that the show may not be back, and David Schwimmer was not even required to attend what may be the *series* finale taping so they could tie up loose threads.
Everything I ever really loved about the show got wrecked, Activia. Systematically taken down. I'm angry. You are happy, but you are a Chandler and Monica fan who loves Matthew Perry.
Whoa, thats not the only reason there. I tend to push away the bad and enjoy the show for what it is. It's still hilarios. I'll I'm saying is you enjoy the show more if you want to. Or you can pick out every little thing you dont like and harp on taht and not enjoy it at all. It's your choice. Just a suggestion and I know you will continue what you are doing. I was just throwing out my own opinion.

I think you really have to blame that on the cast then if it happens. They have every opportunity to sign this deal, and if they reject it because of money I will be really mad at them, and NBC for not trying hard enough to resolve this stupid issue. I'm already preparing to lose one of my favorite shows this year due to a stupid money issue (X-files), it would really stink to have to lose my second favorite the same way. At least with X-files, I've known for a while this would most likely be the end. I'm not a big R&R fan but it's only fair they get to be happily ever & ride off into the sunset together when the series ends. I think all of us would like to see that happen, even those of us who like C&M better.

The reason for all the cynicism is because this season is probably going to go down as one of the worst seasons in the entire run of the series. I think that because NBC is going to have to fork out a hell of a lot of cash they might just want the show to pick its ratings back up again so they might inject the writing team with some new blood. I mean if they are going to have to give the $800.000 an episode they will want the show to be back where it was during S2-5, this might work out well for us ..

The sad thing is, as people may have guessed from my post last night, nowadays I'm hoping more for Roswell being renewed than the Friends cast signing new contracts - Roswell's only just getting started, whereas nowadays I doubt Friends is going to last to the end of next season (although I've been enjoying it a little more lately by not analysing the hell out of it). If Friends doesn't get another season, it's not going to break my heart anymore. Sigh...

Ahh It woulda been better if he'd stopped to talk but i guess he was in a hurry :) I did have a look around the "ambulance bay" part of the outside set, that was pretty cool (they have a huge sheet over the top of it to block out the sunlight because it's filmed in California but supposed to be in Chicago <g> when I went they still had lots of white "snow" around on the floor from a previous filming)

I watched 7 episodes in a row on friday and was beginning to get sick of it..but after a few hours break I watched the 11 o clock episode..but..I couldn't have watched 100..
