it was announced this morning on the show "Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee" in their entertainment report that the cast has signed a contract for a 7th season and they will be earning $750,000 an episode (which comes out to be 16 or 17 million a year). The official announcement will be made by the end of the week.
just in case there is additional speculation : this is a very reliable american talk show and the information is 100% true.

This is interesting because I think the woman who does the entertainment report on Live! is from Access Hollywood, which is NBC's version of ET. But I haven't been able to see Live in weeks, so I can't confirm this.
NBC's schedule will be announced in mid-May--doesn't mean that a separate announcement about contracts couldn't be made before then.

Though i dont think regis and kathy lee would rumour monger, i think warner tv would announce this before anyone else would

That sounds like great news! And there's an MLB interview I read yesterday in which he says there actually is going to be a 7th season and he can't imagine living without Joey. I'm not sure if it was real or if the interview was just made up, (like it seems to be the case for a lot of interviews in that paper) but I thought I'd share anyway. Don't hold your breath though, cause I wouldn't bet much on the reliability of the news (and don't get me started on French press!). Oh and just so you know, I didn't read this in a tabloid but in a magazine entirely dedicated to tv series.
