So who is the *real* bitch, Monica or Rachel?

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this or not... but...

There have been many complaints from season 6 dealing with the characters Monica and Rachel. This season I've heard various declarations on a variety of message boards:

"Rachel's a bitch! Why would anyone wanna hang out with someone who puts you down all the time? I would be happier if Jennifer left the show!"

"Did you hear how mean Rachel's being to Monica and Chandler in TO ON THE LAST NIGHT? She's not very nice to Ross either in TOW THE ROUTINE."

"She's even starting to look (at this point I was thinking- WHAT?) like a bitch with her hair and stuff?"

Excuse me? Just because Rachel cracks a few retorts and comments using "pathetic" towards Ross and Chandler's way every so often doesn't label her as heartless. Can Rachel help it? Ross and Chandler and made out to be funny. Her comments were *supposed* to come as friendly bantering. And hint to anyone who believes this... Rachel ISN'T Jennifer, OK? Just because someone doesn't like Rachel is no reason for Jennifer to, and I quote, "leave the show and be banned from Hollywood forever." And would these people prefer the older version of Rachel? I like the new one better. Since Rachel's matured these past couple of seasons and developed a more definitive character she keeps getting FUNNIER and FUNNIER. Last night's episode being prime evidence.

OK, now for Monica...

"Monica is soooo pathetic! She doesn't even love Chandler she's just looking for anything because she can't find a boyfriend."

"I hate Monica. Why does the rest of gang want to hang around with such a boring person?"

(AND I even found a similar hair comment. Not the same... but... similar.)

"Her hair looks bad so long. Why does Chandler put up with that?"

Though the character "Monica" had romantic troubles... did anybody else notice that she never really went looking? It would've been rather amusing to have an episode in which she actually went hunting for the perfect guy. Anyway, though the sometimes writers make it look as if she doesn't, I'm certain that Monica loves Chandler. Boring person, eh? I doubt there's one person whose every single friend is incredibly exciting. I don't know about about anyone else but the first qualities I look for in a friend is trust, kindness, and a sweet personality. Monica is very much all of those things. I never thought of her as boring either. And... the other hair comment... hmmm. Yeah- OK. *Poor* Chandler must be in devastated! I'm *sure* Chandler must be overly-anxious for Monica to fall asleep so he can go fetch the scissors. ;-)

Rachel's normal demeanor is not really something that makes me think her a bitch. The I-don't-want-you-but-I-won't-let-you-date-anybody-else syndrome is what bothers me about her, and it's getting pretty toxic and pretty disgusting as we conclude the latest edition.

Sorry, Alyssa, but Monica's been pretty hard on Chandler lately. I don't think she's boring, but I think really puts him down a lot and she's VERY bossy. This is all pretty new behavior. She was not always a bitch.

Besides, Alyssa means that the people who think Rachel is a bitch don't think so because of the Revolving Doors, they think she's a bitch basically because she's Rachel. They don't care about the Revolving Doors or anything like that, what they don't like is that she's Rachel. I actually came across someone on a message board who said that Rachel had a, and I quote, 'very hostile attitude' towards Chandler and Monica - she had *no* basis for this other than the fact that it was Rachel. Oddly, when she was asked to show specific proof to back up her theory, she dropped it. I'm of the view that people don't like Rachel in particular just because she's Rachel (or perhaps more specifically, not Chandler and/or Monica), not because of anything she's actually done.

Hello Tina! Well, I'm pretty sure you know that ep in S2 where Ross , Joey and Chandler make a list of Rachel's fusses. Well, actually I think they are right. She is SOOOOOO spoilt. I can't stand her ! She thinks so highly of herself ! She never cares about the others' feelings but only of hers. She did not hesitate one second before taking that plane to London in order to tell Ross she was still in love with him. Just because she felt like it, it had to be that way. I don't think so at all. Spoiled, yes. But anyone whose lived off of their daddy until they were like 25, or 26 (??) is going to be like that for awhile. I think that she has at least matured since season one. She makes a living on her own, and is a lot more self-reliant. So, I'll give you the spoiled part, but NOT a bitch. Sure she went off to London with the intentions to tell Ross that she was in love with him, but did she? no. She waited until they got back to america, and even then, she told him, and then felt silly and just told him to forget about it. Plus if you really do love someone, you feel obligated to tell them. Although, I do agree on the Jean-Claude thing. That was rude. But its not like Monica had "dibs" oh him. He's a movie star, everyone thinks he's hot. So its not like mon and jean had a relationship. Rachel is the one Jean liked, so hey, she had a chance w/ a star, she went for it. What normal girl wouldnt?? I think Rachel is really cool, and her character has matured so much. Alrighty, well thats just what I think. Feel free to yell at me and tell me i'm wrong, i'm sure *someone* will. :o)
