I'm not really sure if I'm right but Charlie's ex, Benjamin Hobart, is a paleontologist, right? And as far as I remember, Ross said something about him winning a Nobel prize (10.6, the one with ross' grant). Nobel prize is offered in 6 areas, physics, literature, chemistry, medicine, peace and economics. I'm just wondering in which area Hobart won his Nobel prize. Or am just weird thinking something like this?

is responsible for one of the most important theories in paleontology, and he won a Nobel Prize. However, he was primarily a physicist, and his Nobel was for work unrelated to his theory. It's a stretch, but if Hobart had a similar background that could explain the dialogue.
I thought I remembered Ross saying it had something to do with the dating of fossils or the way to figure ...couldn't that be considered chemistry??? or literature.. they write alot of papers. (Ross mentions the Nobel prize in connection with papers he's written - see below)

Ross: Yeah, maybe. I do have my whole career in front of me. I mean, I can still win a Nobel prize. Although the last two papers I've written were widely discredited.
