question about "the last one"

Hello, I haven't read the NG for months, so I'm sorry if that has already been discussed. After reading the spoilers of the two last episodes of the season written by people that were at the tapping, I'm wondering if in the end:

if like last year they didn't make every body leave to shoot the last scene...

I mean this is rather weird to have everybody there after Chandler and Monica got engaged. Everybody but Ross...

I am wondering if that means something important, like - I don't know - he plans to propose to Rachel... or something like that.

It's just that this has kept me bothering...

But may be I'm wrong, may be he was there and the person who wrote the spoiler just did not mention him...

Anyway, excuse me if this has already been discussed!

It appears to be a practical detail. Schwimmer was on location shooting a movie and could not attend the taping at all. They did a few scenes with him beforehand, but for the moments it seems Ross is not in that scene because David wasn't able. It does seem to me *very* shabby that Ross was not considered important enough to be there for the engagement announcement, nor important enough to be in the possible last ensemble scene of the show's history, but what can you do? And of course, it is possible there is something we don't know about. Not certain, though.

maybe the end credits scene involves ross and rachel (i know it would be very short then, but the writer's have done really unpredictable short scenes before - chandler and monica in london). i don't think the audience saw the end teaser (or whatever it's called :)) being shot, but i'm not sure so don't flame me ok! or maybe they shot two versions of the ending, just in case there won't be a 7th season...they often film different versions of the same scene, so they have a choice of which jokes to use, maybe they did the same for the finale...but i dunno...just a thought.

oh, i also forgot that last scene at central perk in tow ross finds out...quite unexpected i think, and something like that could possibly happen again....happy easter by the way :-)

It's not likely to happen since the last two seasons finale's didn't have end teasers, but proper credits instead. Unless they did and they were removed from the 2 part versions. Anyone know?

yes.. there was some conspiracy theory going around that the real finale was not filmed in front of the audience.. and this was like the season 5.. suddenly something happening..... who knows what ?? I reckon it has something to do with Ross....seeing as he is not there,....

And if, like the person who just posted they were at the taping is to be believed, they let it get to the stage where the show *began* with all six, but ended with only 5 (or even 4, if you count Mondler as one person).

BTW, I'm assuming you're talking about Alice in Wonderland.

I thought the release last year was pretty bad. I think the CG was good, but it didn't help the movie any. In contrast, the release in 1985 for a TV miniseries was far better. Steve Allen gave the music and it was an all-star cast. That actually was, in my opinion, the only version of Alice to be true to both books. In fact, most of the story in the miniseries followed the book closely.

(I've avoided watching any version of Alice up to this point, so I wouldn't know, but a good filmmaker could make 2 good linked versions, surely? Alice in the first book (NOT "Alice in Wonderland") is quite a bit younger than in the second book, so running them together doesn't work from that point of view, not to mention the problem with the endings...)
