Solving the 9th season conundrum

The producers have said the goal was to make everyone happy at the end. Well, it seems they can make C&M happy with a baby, and Phoebie can be happy with either finally getting a boyfriend or becoming famous. But it doesn't seem like the R/J/R thing is going to be easy to get out of that makes everyone happy.

So what do think will happen? If I were betting, I would say they have to explore some kind of relationship with Joey and Rachel, and have it not work out, before Joey would be truly happy to see Rachel be with Ross. I don't think anything will come from the marriage proposal, but somewhere down the line they will probably do J&R, because it seems an awful lot of people like them together.

Honestly I think Rachel & Ross have had enough chances, Joey seems serious.... Guys like Joe only feel that once in a lifetime.

Joey has a big heart, huge; in fact, I think it's the part that centers him and gives him his drive. I think he's capable of feeling love in a big way again if it should come to that. We just don't know yet, if it will come to that. ;-)

I'm with you on this one also, it would be a surprise if they just came to grips with who they are and quite the whole "on a break" argument. Just be true to the characters.

I'm pretty certain the producers are going to at least "test the waters" in regards to Joey and Rachel, and take it from there. No one has any idea how that relationship would play out until it is filmed, it could actually be better in the end than Ross and Rachel.

The producers have left a lot of indication in their press visit that they intend to try something more inspired than a cliche Ross and Rachel reunion. Creatively, there's a lot to explore with Joey and Rachel, and that's why I think they will go there.
