Well I was so glad to see Phoebe have a great plotline tonight. And oh God, can Chandler be any more insecure? And did anything think he did a great Seinfeld impression with some of his jokes? :) Joey was great, only he could really be convincing as someone who was really learning from the lessons the puppet's taught. And I agree with Ross, even I was annoyed with the male nanny. He was just a little too much for my taste. All in all a really good solid episode.
Seinfeld is what I was thinking during his jokes. What might have been better was to have the Monica's coworker be played by Jerry himself. Then he and Chandler could have gone at it head to head. "TXHorns79" wrote: Seinfeld impression with some of his jokes? :)

I didn't think much of the episode. Not really bad, but pedestrian.
The ``What's the deal with...'' style of stand-up comedy surely predates Jerry Seinfeld. I'm still waiting for Monica to have to share a kitchen with Adam from NORTHER EXPOSURE.
I was really annoyed with just how over-the-top chauvanistic Ross was being. It's one thing to have him be skeptical of the male nanny at first, but to have him just continue that through the entire episode is ridiculous. I did think the nanny subplot was funny, though. I found it especially funny when he played the recorder to the baby, then was teaching it to Joey and Rachel. "Hot Cross Buns" is always the first thing people learning recorder play.
David's coming back from Minsk was somewhat funny, only because of Hank Azaria's performance. I liked the way he said "Dammit" in a rather low, unexcited voice when Phoebe asked where his luggage was.
I too was reminded of Seinfeld when Chandler started doing his routine. That subplot wasn't great, but it had its moments, such as when they all laughed when he said, "If I knew you guys would be here, I would have gotten another pizza." Joey is the only guy who got out of the episode unscathed. He also had some great moments, such as when he came in after Phoebe and the guy traded keys, and they said "Isn't it amazing" or something and Joey said, "Yeah, these little things can open doors, can you believe it?" Then he makes that hilarious gesture of opening a lock and that look on his face made it more humorous. ________________________________________________________________

Was he? Sandy was over-the-top sensitive, though, like Ross pointed out.
That's the time you can accuse him for, that was just plain prejudice. Although he was very honest, not everybody had the guts for asking: "Are you gay?"
Well, it was understandable, IMHO. It wouldn't have been understandable (or excusable) if the manny turned out to be just as sensitive as a normal (female) nanny, but he didn't.
Hm, I didn't know that "song". I think "Alle meine Entchen" is what you learn first in Germany.

Yeah, but I like David better than Mike. There could have been a lot more drama (and fun!) in this, if they extended it to two or three episodes, which they probably would have done if it wasn't Phoebe but R, R, M or C. Did you notice, how Joey was somehow put in all three plotlines, but hadn't one himself? The new Phoebe.

Reminded me more of some late night talk show host, but why not Seinfeld--after all it's the same self-repeating kind of humour that quickly isn't funny any more. Maybe that's why no-one laughed. I think I've to rewatch it though, as I didn't get all of them.
Who wasn't? (Except Joey and Rachel.) Why was FPJ so short-haired? I wouldn't have casted an actor looking like this as a male nanny, no matter how famous he was. I liked Rachel's off scene comments when Ross �fired� him. Will they go along with the bra-less blonde one now? (I liked Ross kidding Rachel.) After all the �manny� story wasn't much like I expected. I thought Ross was going to be jealous thus remembering their plans from 901, but forgot about that the minute Sandy (American parents are just plain mean to their offsprings) mentioned being engaged. It could as well have had been painfully embarassing to see a jealous Ross once again. I really thought the 200th would be /the/ re-union show, or at least a first clear sign for one, but all we got were the kitchen scenes including
Ross: ... I would never force you to hire someone you're this uncomfortable with. Rachel: Uch, that's true.
(an honest and way giving Rachel we rarely see) and Ross drinking beer (To make him look less sensitive in opposition to the nanny? Naw, he liked the cookies.). All this--kitchen, after work beer, brown jacket, the children--somehow reminded me of a regular family show (Married with Children or the like). Anyhow, I would be gladly surprised if /it/ happened unexpectedly in a non sweeps and non holiday episode.
That didn't feel like almost 32 minutes.
