Well, I must say that this was one of the funniest eppys I've seen in a while. Everybody in this episode had a storyline, which made this one work.

First...

Pheobe's Grandmother's cookie story. Great story, especially their last scene when Pheobe finds out that the secret cookie was actually Nestle's tollhouse cookies.

Chandler and his future dad in law. God, the lapdance scene was hilarious

and..

Great chemistry with Joey and Rachel regarding Joey's boat. I really think I'd like to see more scenes with those 2.

Great eppy all around. I hope they keep it up. We need more like that to keep Friends alive.

i agree. GREAT EPISODE. This is the best episode i've seen in a LONG TIME, and as you may know, i've been pretty harsh on the friends recently. But i really liked this episode-very funny. No whiny Monica!!! And her hair looked really good. Almost normal Ross-similar to the ross of late season 2. Phoebe-great. Really used to her full potential (i.e prononciation of Nesle Toulhouse). And her hair is normal again!! Chandler-healthier looking and funny Joey-funny as usual. loved the coastguard thing Rachel-used very well. Overall, GREAT

I totally agree with you that this is the best episode so far but to me Joey is delivering the best lines so far of Season 7. Especially tonight when rachel asked him that question on how to "lift the (forgot what it was)" and he said "you rub it."

Oh well, I also like to see more stories with Joey and Rachel, they do some great storylines...when they have them. I also found that some of Ross's jokes seemed to go dead to the audience though; like he said something and there was silence and then the laughter came in late although sometimes the jokes are too simple like when Chandler asks why there has to be steam in a room and then Ross goes "because it would be called the room room"(Kinda weak).

But I hope there more episodes be like this later on this season. Can't wait for next week!

Looks like I will be in the minority here but....

I thought this particular episode was weak, but maybe that's expected after the writers score big on the first two.

I guess it's possible that Rachel , who doesn't know how to do laundry, could be so "boat smart"

She looks good and hasn't aged like the rest of the cast.

But I felt the writing was uninspiring - to me the only funny bit was with Phoebe and the recipe. She has the ability to save an otherwise poor episode.

I'm with you. The Rachel and Joe thing doesn't work EVERY week. Last week's "book" plot was good but this one didn't have much to laugh at. Chandler's plot was a good idea but not very well done. It seems Chandler has lost some of his wit. Ross wasn't that funny at all. Especially after wathing him in TOW Rachel's Dress in syndication just before the prime time show. Phoebe and Monica saved it from mediocraty.

Nobody can be that dense, and a very popular recipe for the Nestle Toll-house cookies would be recognized instantly as "nothing spectacular" (i.e. they would taste just like just about every other chocolate chip cookie one has ever had. . . . ) by Monica, or Ross, or Joey.

Or at least she thinks she would have known ;p She would never admit it but I don't think even a master chef would be able to tell a lot of different cookie recipies apart. That's why I found it a little weird to believe that they could make 17 different batches and actually think they all had a unique flavor, but hey it's tv. Real rules don't apply :)

I thought Chandler's delivery was awful. He really sounded like he wasn't there. I don't normally notice stuff like that, but i definitely did on this ep.

I also like Joey and Rachel together, maybe because Joey's idiocy makes Rachel look smarter. Frankly, I don't know how anyone can find Joey the character attractive, becuase his stupidity is so repulsive.

They explained this in the script though. Her father pretty much forced her to learn how to sail. She was naive in living on her own, but that doesn't mean she wasn't smart or didn't have any skills. Just a spoiled girl who needed to learn how to live on her own.
