My favorite actress is Carole Lombard, wife of Hollywood King Clark Gable, who was the first woman to die in action for our country in WWII when her plane crashed just west of Las Vegas on January 16, 1942.
She had been on a bond-selling tour for the US government and its effort to raise much-needed funds for its actions in Europe. Her salesmanship had broken all records.
There is value in this form of support, and I encourage everyone to again invest in our country and buy US Savings Bonds. A $50 US Savings Bond is a mere $25. This can and will also show support for America because Congress just approved an initial $40b to mobilize and retaliate, just weeks after sending everyone a $300 check. The night before Carole Lombard's plane crashed, she stood before the citizens of Indianapolis, raised her arms into the air and formed a "V" - for "Victory."
