In "Friends," after an intimate date with a bright, likable woman (Davis), Joey (Matt LeBlanc) intends to move on and forget her, but she bonds so well with Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) that they actively campaign to convince Joey to continue dating her.

Meanwhile, a horrified Monica (Courteney Cox Arquette) stumbles upon Janice (guest star Maggie Wheeler), Chandler's (Matthew Perry) annoying ex-girlfriend and somehow allows her to invite herself to their wedding.

Yep, that would be 707. But it was filmed as either 708 or 709. Why have so many episodes been taped out of order this year???

I'm not familiar with Kristin Davis, but most people think she should be good.

Having a C&M story EVERY single week is REALLY getting old, but Janice should at least make this interesting.

No mention of either Ross or Tag. I wonder if they have a subplot together?

How can you not have at least a minor C&M story every week? They live together..has there ever been an ep when Rachel lived with Monica that she wasn't in an storyline with her?

Well, Phyllis, what about "TOW The Cop"? Rachel helped Ross move his couch; C&M helped Joey out with the "friends first" thing; and Phoebe met Gary.

No R&M story. :)

Yeah I know you're right, but the majority had at least minor Rachel & Monica interaction, the same w/ Joey and Chandler. Oh well, no biggie :) Just trying to make a small point.

Storylines and simple interaction are two separate things. Monica and Rachel obviously had plenty of interaction when they were living together. But they didn't always have common storylines. They equally participated with the rest of the group.

As for C&M, many of us debated this topic at the end of Season 6. The most important part of this show is the dynamic of the six. Mixing involvement between the different characters is what keeps the show fresh. The writers' desire to keep C&M together every episode threatens this factor. This goes for any two characters.

There is absolutely no reason why C&M can't still have interaction together, while having separate storylines. Many people here have mentioned that their relationship should be treated as Ross and Monica's. Even though they are siblings, they don't have to be together all of the time. I think this is excellent point.

We need to see more Chandler/Phoebe, Monica/Joey, Chandler/Rachel, etc. The writers can still do plenty of C&M --- just not 3/4 of the episodes a season.

You make some valid points, and I tend to agree, but for one thing, the C&M fans on the newsgroup can't help what the writers choose to show. They're not listening, and it gets a little repetitive. Yeah they should put some more C&J scenes, but they're just not doing it.

I agree,They should mix it up more, but with the marriage preparations, they kind of have to at this point, do a lot of C&M storylines.

The C&M overkill has nothing to do with the wedding.  They do not "have" to shove
this insipid couple down our throats until we gag every single week because they
are engaged.   They shoved them down our throats last year when they weren't even
sure they were a couple.   Less is more. Fewer stories more thoughtfully written
would serve the show better.  There is no reason these to have to be a vampire
sucking away at the show's life blood rather than merely giving it the blood
transfusion they gave when it began.
