My own set of intricately connected Friends friends tells me--giving credence to recent small-screen gab, including W.'s--that it's looking like there will indeed be a ninth season of the back-on-top show.
"They've pretty much decided that since their movie careers aren't exactly taking off," confided a knowledgeable member of the Friends inner sanctum, "they'll do another season." (And look, this insider is so inner it's even a little too close for my comfort.)
And with this happy (for some) news come reports of unbelievable benevolence:
"They're not going to ask for any more money," added the loose-lipper. "They know they have a pretty good thing."
Guess that would be a (no bidding) no kidding.
Reps for NBC and Warners Television would not comment.
Hmmm. With so many Americans out of work these days, I suppose three-quarters of a million dollars (or so) per show isn't looking so bad, now is it?
