What about F/X?

I realize it's step down in network prestige, but maybe it would be a good idea to move the show to F/X. I mean, this is the network that champions Son of the Beach and The Test. And they did finish out the unaired episodes of Action. Surely Family Guy would make a killing in comparison to other shows on the network. The only problem would be that it does shut out the viewers who don't have F/X, but it is one idea to keep the show running somehow.

Comedy Central would be preferable; they are in way more homes and have enough other decent series to draw viewers in.

It only seems recently that shows have moved around with the crappier networks popping up willing to take the big boy's scraps. Have contracts become more open over the years? Or, do the crappy netoworks have to pay big bucks to Fox, et al, just for the rights to produce the show?

It would depend on the show. I'm guessing that Fox has the rights to Family Guy for a certain amount of time, even if they decide to cancel it. If they canceled the show, it might be 5 years before it could come back on a different network. I guess Fox could be civil and let them go to another network, but I really don't see it happening. I forgot who said it, but someone said it here before that Family Guy costs too much to produce, for Comedy Central to pay for it. Take that with a grain of salt though, because I don't remember who it was saying it, and it probably wasn't SZJ. Anyway, if Fox held on to it for so many years, the show would become unmarketable as far as new episodes go. You might see it in syndication, but I'd be surprised to see it in production.

But it's always bugged me that FG hasn't gotten a push like Futurama et al. Seriously, I think if they put FG with their other cartoon shows on Sunday it would do just fine. I tend to think FG's target audience is the same as those watching The Simpsons, King of the Hill, and Futurama. It seems almost natural that it would go in there somewhere. Unless I'm missing something...

The Critic *is* on Comedy Central, at least here in Texas. I've never seen it on Fox.

It used to be shown on Sunday nights with all the other animated shows for a brief period. Then Bart in the....er, I mean Malcolm in the middle premiered on Sunday night, and it's been the same ever since.

Just though of this, not that it has much to do with anything really, but isn't F/X owned or somehow related to 20th Century Fox?
