Brain, Ok,he's a dog, duh. But no one on the show seems to notice this, treating him as a human. No one has been surprised that he speaks, it's just accepted. Also, no one else seems to have a talking dog... Is he a special dog? Magic? From outer space? ??
Has this been explained? (Just point me to a good FAQ) I understand Stewie-speak!

Oh? The episode shows Brian's childhood, but I don't recall any particular explanations about how and why he talks.
Brian isn't the only talking dog of course; we've also seen his flamboyant brother in Hollywood. It's also notable that in the episode that ends with the brief classroom scene far in the future, the student asks about the talking *baby*, not the dog.

If you watch the Larry and Steve Cartoon, that predates FG. Steve(Brian), is in the pound, and no one understands him. Then Larry(Peter), comes in looking for a dog. He understands Steve, and Steve says, "Finally someone who can hear me." So my guess is, Seth is making a statement about Larry and Peter being so simple minded, that they are on the same level as Dog's.

something that's been bothering me for while and fits quite well in this context: Is Louis aware of all the things Stewie threathens her with? In some episodes, she picks up what he's just said, but in most cases, she completely ignores his "babbling". If that has been discussed earlier and/or can be found in a FAQ, I'd be glad if someone pointed me in the right direction.
To me, that kinda seems like she knows the undertones (as in Stewie sounds mad), but not the exact context of why or what he's saying. Either that, or its kinda satirical on how parents just don't pay attention to exactly what their kids say, but how it sounds when you're not really listening, which I see a lot in parents, since I work in a daycare and all.

What's funny is how Seth makes fun of people who ask that question in the episode where Peter founds his own country. At the end of the episode it wraps up where the teacher is going over "ancient" history and then one of the students asks the same question you just asked !

I know it's just an animated show and I don't take it too seriously (to anticipate some comments), but do you really think it's brilliant to "cover up for logical mistakes" by drawing the viewer's attention to them? Well, come to think about it, maybe it's not that stupid either. But actually, I don't think they made this mistake on purpose in the first place.

Just accept them the way they are and laugh at all the jokes that break this convention. (like Peter's "Holy Crap, you can TALK!"..which has allready been mentioned here before.) Although I have wondard why no-one has tried to exploit Brians ability to talk for money. Aww crap! now you got me goin'!
