Hey Barkeep! Whose Leg Do You Have To Hump To Get A Dry Martini Around Here!? -Brian

For my money, that's the most clever turn of phrase in the show. But for pure randomness, a surefire laugh from those who know the quote, and broad cultural recognition once you get over the shock of the complete non-sequitur (I played the episode for a room full of strangers at a party last summer, and this quote set everybody howling), my all-time favorite is Peter's classic...

"You know what I haven't had in a while? Big League Chew."

Ep 3-10 - Fish Out of Water.

Meg an Lois go on a spring break blowout, meanwhile Peter buys a boat and almost has his house reposessed (because he's a fat dead beat looser and the bank said it wouldn't matter anyway.), and has to go off in search of Daggermouth (the killer fish) to make the loan payments.

"Is your refrigerator running? Because if it is...it probably runs like you...very homosexually"

Yes! My brother and I incorporate Simpsons quotes in our everyday life, but this one is definitely one of our most used quotes overall (of course, applied to other situations e.g. car, television, computer, etc). The whole bar scene was hilarious in "Lethal Weapsons".

My favorite quote (sequence of quotes, really) has to be from "The King Is Dead" - I can't even describe how much I laughed at this:

"Am I ... Am I supposed to draw the penis? Am I ... Am I supposed to sculpt the penis? Am I ... Am I supposed to conduct with my penis?"

The third one was sheer genius. :)

"Oh come on....don't I at least get a chumba woomba song?" -Peter

"One hundred million dollars!" -Peter

"No no no, I think this is one of those things we should ignore and pretend doesn't exist...just like the squid" - Peter

"Fatty Corpuscle? How the hell did a comedian from the silent movie era get lodged in my left bosom?" - Peter

"Oh, come on buddy, that's classic traveling music! Ridin on a buuuus, ridin on a buuuuus, sitting next to bums, there's an open seat, I hope that isn't pee" - Peter

"Oh no....I gotta fart, but I don't know which...way...to...turn..." -Peter

"Why don't you....hehe....give it a shot!" (Tricia Tokinawa shoots Peter, at which point he starts screaming and she yells "Oh my god, what have I done!") "Hehehehehehehehehe" - Peter

"More tea Mr. Bike?" -young Peter

"Why did all the dinosaurs die out..." "Because you touch yourself at night!" -young Peter and teacher

"Don you worry...he'sa cookin' up sumtin!" -the Pope

My best is Stewie:

"I didn't realize she had been born, I assumed she congealed in a gutter somewhere."

J.

How could I forget this one:

Peter: Hey, you got any potty-training books up there? Librarian: Sure...we have 'everybody poops' or 'nobody poops but you'. Pater: Ah, well, y'see, we're Catholic, so- Librarian: Ah, well then you want, 'You're a naughty child and that's concentrated filth coming out the back of you'

Average length of laughter rating: 2mins+ 10 seconds every other minute...lol

Some more:

"You're right Scoob, we're dealing with one sick, son-of-a-bitch"

"Everybody leave - I have to poop. NOW!" - Fat Peter

"Hey Lois - I did it!" - Peter (after remembering the first time he could pee in the toilet)

"Oh Jeez, are you alright?" - Peter (after witnessing Big Fat Paulie being repeatedly shot from a drive-by limo)

"Hey, did I just hit that osterich?" "No" "Are you sure-" "-Yeah he's fine, carry on" - Peter and Coyote

"Oh dad, I'm sorry - it got away..." "To Hell it did! (Hands him a gun) Now you get in there, AND KICK THAT FISH'S ASS!" - Joe and son

"Oh my god, Brian there's a message in my alphabet soup. It says ooooooo!!!" "Peter, those are Cheerios" - Peter and Brian (THE EPISODE THAT MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH THE SHOW - my first one)

AND THE BEST... "Are you SURE you didn't eat anything in my factory?" "NO" "Hey, I'm just asking-" "-What, you calling me a liar?-" "-No, n-" "Hey, shutup Wonka!" - Peter and Willy Wonka

All for now... Rich:L

I believe he said: concentrated evil rather than concentrated filth, however that is a great moment of laughter. "Richard Lyons" wrote in message news:FNwh8.112407$[email]...

Would love to find a digitized copy of this exchange (not verbatim):

Peter: "Brian, want to come with us to New York?"

Brian "No, I've been there. It's like Prague without the whimsy...."

I'll have to add two of the more ironic ones I recall,

Stewie: "Let's just hope Osama bin Laden doesn't know show tunes." Then, a year or so later, Seth himself almost falls victim to his own foreshadowing.

Peter: "There's nothing but crap on Wednesday nights. (turns toward the 'camera') Except for the fine programming from the folks at FOX." Then, a year or so later, Peter falls victim to his own foreshadowing.

Some of the best and most quotable:

Are you sure you read it - are you sure it wasn't nothing?? - Brian

Should, should we hit him? - Peter regarding Stewie.

Stewie's blasting of the girl who says "You are the weakest link - Goodbye". 45 seconds later he finally finishes insulting her. Just great.

MattMattalt.tv.family-guy

oh yeah and I always forget the line:

"everything I say is a lie ... except that ... and that ... and that ..."

damn show no on no more, matt bitter and wants revenge, but a nice happy pie revenge, where Family Guy and Matt run away to a dessert [sic] (can you "sic" your own writing??) island and live happily ever after.

Some of my faves...

Stewie (to the pancake guy): Charlie, good news, I've decided not to kill you!

Brian (as Peter sits): Well, Peter it's almost six o'clock. If you're gonna pull a party out of your ass you'd better stand up.

Peter: Hey, I know, I'll give you some beer, that always goes right through me. Stewie: Oh yes, and while we're at it we can light up doobies and watch porn! Peter: Uh.... we can?

Lois: Look, Peter, I care as much about the size of your penis as you do the size of my breasts... Peter: (screams)

Peter: But I don't know anything about how to act black... except maybe not smiling when I get my picture taken.

There's waaaay more, but I'm drawing a blank right now... :)
