Going up against Family Guy on TV tonight in the U.S.A:
7PM CST: NBC: Friends (new episode) ABC: Who Wants to be a Millionaire: "Supermodels Edition" CBS: Survivor
This has to go down as one of the worst time slots in history for a show to compete against. That's three shows that have been rated #1 multiple times. Either FOX really hates FG or has unrealistic respect for it. I love FG, obviously, but it simply will be trounced tonight.
Say what you want about unfounded stereotypes, but when a network bans an episode about a guys fascination with Jews, almost cancels it, then pits it in the worst time slots on the worst days of the week... I think looking at the last names of the executives would be worth a small peek to me.

As I always record FG and then watch it time-delayed, I had a chance to peruse this...not all models are as stupid as people make them out to be. One was studying to be an attorney when she was discovered, and I think another one was as well. I wouldn't call Cindy Crawford a prodigy, but I think she was valedictorian at her high school. (Not sure if she was on; I didn't watch that long.) Anyway, the questions were no harder or easier than they usually are on that show, though many had to do with fashion and other things models know more about. It was for charity, of course.
Don't worry as soon as bernie mac show fails....they'll push titus back to 9 and move family guy back to wednesday 9 30. As for the Tick................meh!
Bernie Mac may not fail..... apparently there have been some critics who like it... I don't see why.

Fox's new Bernie Mac Show scored as well with the public as it did with the critics Wednesday, at least the all-important 18-49-year-old segment of the public. Although ranked fourth in the ratings among overall households, the premiere show at 8:30 p.m. took first place among younger viewers, while a second episode at 9:00 p.m. came in second against NBC's powerhouse, The West Wing. However, the struggling Fox sitcom, Titus, starring Christopher Titus, at 9:30 fared poorly, dragging down Fox's overall ratings for the night.

I like that prediction. :) The Bernie Mac show didn't make me laugh, it made me cringe. I sat through the first ep but put on a tape while the second was on and came back for Titus. As for The Tick, I gave it a second chance, there was still _nothing_ there, so that frees up another half hour.

I record all the shows I watch for later viewing, but I know most people do not...
FOX has to decide whether they want to surrender bad time slots or truly compete. It seems they can't make up their minds. If you give up on a slot, either put crap like Malcolm reruns there or else put on a quality show with a relatively small but faithful audience and leave it. What they shouldn't do is program stuff they know won't win the slot or even get close, and then cancel the shows because they did relatively poorly ratings-wise.
If I was desperate to watch something - maybe "Who wants to be a Millionaire." Family Guy gives me something to watch to Thursday night for the first time in years.
