Last night's episode was a bit lacking, IMO...and this opinoin is from someone who really WANTS to like any Family Guy episode that airs...die hard fan here!
Hit and miss, so far this season. Fortunately more HIT than MISS, but I hope it leans more to the former than the latter. Last Sunday doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. Hopefully Seth hasn't shot his wad already (figuratively, of course).
Any thoughts?
I hate to say it in case anyone I work with is reading this - but I wasn't a big fan of last nite's ep either (but I loved the Journey Karaoke) ....however, I can guarantee you the rest of this season is really good . Next week's episode, "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire" is unreal. You will NOT be disappointed with that one, I assure you!

Outside of New York, where does "Showtime at the Apollo" run immediately after SNL at 1:00am? Also an obscure reference.

In my town, a low-power and shoestring budgeted UPN affiliate (WNGT-LP48) airs Showtime at the Apollo sometime around 10 or 11PM EST, but I can understand this gag too if it's played like this in some bigger markets.

Here in Charlotte NC, it actually runs AGAINST SNL at 11:30pm on the UPN station. Our local NBC station stopped running Classic SNL in favor of Guthy Renker spots.

Thanks for the feedback, and your honesty regarding this episode. It wasn't bad, I'm just used to being in pain from laughing so hard after watching a new ep...for example, Chicken Fight part 2 had me incapacitated for a few minutes. LOL!!
This one didn't quite do it for me like most episodes do. I'll be looking forward to next week.

I felt the same way, had some great parts but the rest wasn't too interesting. The Journey bit was great with everyone in the proximity having to get turned on to it.
I thought it kicked ass!
Not a great episode but the final joke was freakin hilarious (Showtime at the Apollo)

Brian barking at the Black dude. Oh, man. That's what makes this show so magical. You couldn't find that kind of content anywhere else but FG in today's Bush-ocracy.
I will say that much like the last few seasons, you have to watch the ep's many times to get the full hilarity. Each time I watch an episode, I laugh at a different part. The show definately hasn't jumped the shark in my opinion. Not in the least.

I did like the ongoing joke about Brian's racism, but at first viewing there wasn't much more about that episode that really got me laughing much.
