back on the tube in the US

Yay! Bless you, Comedy Central.

I think "Brian In Love" was an overall bad choice to start off the rerun series for the uninitiated (people seeing the show for the first time might get the impression that Brian is the main character of the show), but then again starting off the series with the (uncut!) Mr. Rogers sequence _was_ a great way to kick it off. Seeing FG in full vibrant color and minimal pixellation somehow made the jokes funnier, even though I've heard them a million times, and since I'd only seen the Mr. Rogers sequence in RealMedia format (yech), I was finally able to see all of the gory details in the Land of Make-Believe that were impossible to catch before (the King and Queen hanged, the Owl nursing his wounds, etc.). And the DVD is coming to my mailbox soon. Life is good.

Yeah, I was amazed at how good the quality was. Most of the Fox Stations (at least around here) totally suck and the quality of the family guy broadcasts totally sucked when they were originally broadcast. I wish they would have picked a better episode to start off Family Guy, but it's not like any FG episode is bad, but there are much better ones. Is FG on once a week, or every night?

And of course, I originally meant to say Cartoon Network, not Comedy Central. I hadn't been up late on a Sunday night in a while (I teach, and school's out this week in NYC), and I was so exctied to find that _Gary & Mike_ is on at 1 AM on Comedy Central that I must've had CC on the brain.
