Can someone explain what aniVCD is to me, in general? Are these considered the best available VCD files for FG? TIA

Thanks for reply. I'll grab what I can, but I have a feeling that when I finally get around to doing all of this, they'll be available on DVD. I'm also considering just getting the European DVDs early and also getting a cheap player that can handle them, such as a modified Apex AD-1500. (< $90)
