Canadian Broadcast - NO censoring! :)

I just realized, the first time "Brian, Portrait of a Dog" aired up here, it was on an American channel. A Canadian channel now carries the series, and much to my delight, they showed it in its entirety, complete with the opening scene of Stewie trashing Mr. Roger's Neighborhood!

I'm going to have to start paying attention to all those repeats now.

Maybe redo my old tapes.

BTW, Does anyone happen to know if ALL of the Family Guy episodes follow the same formula and have a short teaser scene before the opening credits? Upon reviewing my old tapes, I've noticed a few of the episodes lack an opening sequence. I know a couple of the more controversial scenes were pulled at time of broadcast; last night's "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood", the "Eight is Enough" sequence where the father throws his daughter to the floor and begins slapping her, and the opening scene from "I Never Met the Dead Man" with Stewie talking on his Sesame Street phone claiming to have "dispatched Mr. Hooper" never aired in may places, (fortunately, the latter two DID make it across the airwaves up here) but there's quite a few other episodes which jump straight from station identification to the opening theme song and leave me wondering if I missed something.

That episode aired shortly after the Columbine incident, and the network wouldn't show a bit w/ Stewie flagrantly waving guns around and shooting stuff.

He's a Presbyterian Minister from Pittsburgh. Friend of mine went to his church when she was a kid.

(I'll try to hold back my feelings on Baptists vs. Presbyterians. Trying to be good here.) ;)

As for why it was taken off the show, hell if I know or care. We're talking about a show that had Peter working as a prostitute and trying to sell a "Cleveland Steamer"* to his wife and dog.

*That endearing euphemism makes an appearance on the Tenacious D CD that's out now. Just about choked when I heard it.

Probably the scene with the dead child hanging off the merry-go-round...his head occasionally hitting something with a noticeable THUD.

I wonder if this was a reference to The Omen... I think a similar scene happened in the 4th, made for tv Omen, with Damien's daughter.
