It's posable it was only cut on most stations for time reasons (i.e. to add more commercials). Also, some scenes seem to be cut in some areas. For example, I belive the "Eight Is Enough" scene was cut in Canada (it is on the ep I downloaded which appears to have been recorded there).

I belive it was supposed to be at the begining before the opening theme. Ever notice sometimes there's a brief scene before the credits but sometimes ther isn't? Makes me ponder what else is missing :-)
