I just viewed the banned episode. Haveing bought all the dvds I wanted to see the banned episode, and now that I have I have one question:
Why the heck was it banned???? There was nothing seriously bad about it other then when the neighbor looked like he was jerking off. But they could havej ust cut that scene. It was explicit of anything....
Can someone explain tom e why they banned this episode???
According to Seth, it had nothing to do with the content, but rather internal squabbling at FOX. If you don't believe that, then there's always the theory about it being possibly offensive to some Jews. There were other episodes that were more offensive to other religious groups, and you could argue that even the Weinstein episode was more offensive to other groups than Jews, but at least in this country (US), Jews are known to be very organized in their protests and the tolerance of Jewish humor here is very low, at least in the media. My two cents.

The unfortunate irony of the banning of "Weinstein" is that the episode is very much about OVERCOMING ignorance and prejudice. Peter's song with "although you killed my lord" is so over the top, it's supposed to make Peter look like an ignorant ass. I don't think it was any more offensive than Diane's comment to Loretta about an "all you-people production of _Hello Dolly_" in "The King Is Dead". Banning it only insulted the intelligence of Jews (myself included) and completely missed the point of the episode. But again: F Fox. F 'em in the end.
