What was your favorite episode?

I just found this news group and wanted other opinions on their favorite episode.

I'd choose as my least favorite that recent epsiode "Saving Private Brian" because of that appalling and baffling portrayal of Marilyn Manson.

Now, if Manson had done the voice, I'd have loved it. Go figure. But without that, the whole thing seemed rather...uninspired and trite.

I thought he did do the voice. Didn't I see his name in the credits? If it wasn't Manson, it wouldn't have been funny. :)

That's why I was wondering in a previous post if Manson had been slated to "appear" and then bowed out at the last minute leaving them stranded so someone else, possibly Seth McFarlane, had to do the voice. (It sounded like the same guy who does Stewie's sperm-brother Bertram who I'm assuming was McFarlane and sounds almost, but not quite, entirely unlike Manson.)

Now that you've mentioned it, I *do* recognize the voice of Bertram as Wallace Shawn...or vice versa. Funny I missed that. I'm considered by many as an incredible auditory person...or perhaps they've been saying "incredible oddity"...I dunno.

My favourite episode is the episode in which the Griffin's house gain independence called Petoria and the United States declare war to Petoria. And Peter celebrate a barbecue in his Garden.This is a very fun episode.

You made me realize that I don't have one particular favorite based on plot. There are favorite "snippets"...but which episode they were from is rather varied...example; Peter's christmas album cracks me up ["I bring these gifts for you, they're up in my bummmmm.] And the "duel" between Peter and Michael Moore always sends me to the floor in gales of laughter. I think the reason I watch Family Guy over the Simpsons [and, I'm sad to admit, after the first couple of episodes I don't watch American Dad] is because of the quick-fire pop culture references. Some of them are so esoteric and out of the blue it's like getting slapped in the face... something I never realized I must be fond of...hmmmmmmm....let's say "refreshing" shall we?

Given that, I'd choose "I Never Met the Dead Man" as my favorite episode. (And considering the nature of the episode and its propensity for pop- culture references that's hardly surprising.) "Wasted Talent" runs a close second. The "World of Pure Inebriation" parody is brilliance, as is the Oompah Loompah song about Joe. ["What do you do when you're stuck in a chair? Finding it hard to go up and down stairs? What do you think of the one you call god? Isn't his absence rather odd? Maybe he's forgotten you."]

However, my all-time favorite "snippet" appears in "Fore Father":

Peter: I'm even better than that Dad on Lost in Space!

The kids usually stay with the mom, so I'm sure he's with Lo-ret-ta.

If I must rate an entire episode, I'd go with "Daboom". For the most part, I have favorite moments. The vomit scene, both chicken fights, Stewie showing us what "cool" is, Stewie slapping Will Farrell, Stewie's "workin on your novel" bit, etc.
