As has been discussed in this newsgroup recently, Carol Burnett filed a lawsuit against Family Guy for briefly incorporating one of her characters into a "Family Guy" episode.
As I recall, Carol Burnett lampooned other people's characters also, and quite often. THerefore, it's only right that Carol Burnett should be sued on the exact same grounds she is suing the producers of "Family Guy."
First, whoever owns the rights to "Gone With the Wind" should sue Carol Burnett for her "Went With the Wind" skit.
Also, Carol Burnett once did a sketch spoofing the TV commercials for "Shout" laundry stain remover, calling her parody brand "Yell." So, whatever corporation manufactures "Shout" stain remover should sue Carol Burnett.
Carol Burnett also spoofed "Sunset Boulevard" and "Double Indemnity", and someone probably owns the rights to those works and should therefore sue Carol Burnett.
I recall Carol Burnett on at least one occasion played a curly-haired little girl character that was obviously based on Shirley Temple, so Shirley Temple should sue Carol Burnett also.
The Carol Burnett Show also did an unauthorized spoof of "Kung Foo" called "Young Fool." If Carol Burnett is sued for this parody, the trial can be referred to as "Kung Sue"!
It's been a long time since I've watched Carol Burnett's old show, and I just can't remember any of her parodies besides the ones I cited above, but I'm sure there must have been a whole lot more. Anyone care to post some replies citing additional actors, characters, and products which were spoofed by Carol Burnett who should therefore file lawsuits? TIA!
