Family Guy mentioned on Kevin & Bean (KROQ Los Angeles)

During an interview with Joss Whedon on "Angel" they mention Family Guy as an example of a show being cancelled and then returning.

The link leads to a transcription which mentions

Kevin: "You know, it used to be in the old days, 99.9% of the time, when a show was cancelled, that was it, there was no fighting, there was no talking, it was outta here. Nowadays, it seems like there are more and more examples of shows that are cancelled by one network, and then they get picked up by somebody else, maybe they go to cable. "

Bean: "Uh-huh. "

Kevin: "Obviously, the story -- the case of the -- yeah, one of our favorite shows, "The Family Guy" that was cancelled -- "

Joss: "Right. "

Kevin: "-- and then now it's being brought back because of the DVD sales. "

So where are the new episodes? ;-)

They're coming... it takes quite a while to produce episodes of an animated show.

About nine months in the future, as the gestation period is about that length of time. The new episodes have only just been conceived, and they need a while to grow arms, legs, and time for voice acting and signing on guest stars. :-P

Any analogy to the gestation period of humans was purely accidental.
