Anybody see the article in VARIETY that said Family Guy was the number one show with teenagers for the last week it aired, beating out both Survivor and Millionaire? Face it, disbelievers, this show is here to freakin' stay!!!

How exactly are you going to save face when the show is picked up for more episodes?
Right. Companies pulling their sponsorship because they don't want to be associated with the content of that show is just what FOX wanted.
Save face? Right. Because of the lofty social standing I enjoy in this newsgroup, no doubt.

The same thing happened with the Simpsons when it first came out. Parents said the show gave a bad message to kids (despite the fact that just b/c a show is animated doesn't mean it's for kids), and they demanded that advertisers quit sponsoring that kind of degenerative show. Bart's lack of respect toward his elders and Homer's seemingly lack of societal values didn't fly well with parents who use the tv as a babysitter. Yet, some ten years later, The Simpsons is one of FOX's money-makers.
Apples and oranges. One show was at the top of the charts and had plenty of advertisers waiting to step in should one decide to pull out, the other was a bottom of the ratings barrel show with no leverage.
Are they really? Is that online somewhere?
If it's true, my guess would be that summer reruns don't make for the strongest competition.

Still, I'm curious. None of the Nielson sites are thorough enough when it comes to ratings. You usually get the top 20 and that's it. I suppose I'd have to find a trade mag or something to get the complete TV ratings. I mean, when the show you're looking for is in the triple digits, you're not going to get it in Entertainment Weekly.
Good attitude. It doesn't pay to get emotionally involved with a show so close to having its plug pulled.

Hey, this week's TV Guide has a 4-page article on Mila Kunis. They mention stuff she's done, stuff she's doing, stuff she wants to do, and not one single mention of a certain lame cartoon. Almost as though they went out of their way to avoid mentioning the name of the show in the article. I wonder why they would do that.
