How come youz crazy fans haven't started a movement for a replacement DVD featuring the uncensored Road to Rhode Island? Enough people bitched about Back to the Future 2 & 3's misframing issues, and Universal remastered it (I just got mine today, yay!)......I'm pretty suprised no one's really beat down on Fox about this.

Yeah, I have to say after being involved with the enormously successful don't-cancel-Futurama petition (that was delivered to and ignored by Fox) I can't see any petition having much success, especially one that would almost surely have less support than the Futurama one. But hey, I'd still support it. :)

You're entitled to your opinion. Though I wouldn't have cared, I'm sure many people would have found it very tasteless and offensive, particularly because he was the pilot of the plane as well as a victim.
The part with Osama bin Laden at the airport. I can see that that might be considered offensive as well. However, I am of the belief that works should be left as released. If nothing else, it is a snapshot of what was considered harmless at the time. It is part of our history. A point better exemplified in the movie Ghost World.
I definitely agree with you there. I don't need people (especially not FOX, for creips-sake) to protect me from reality.

In the Trilogy DVD Widescreen set, BttF 2 & 3 had many shots misframed, so there was too much headroom and gags (such as Marty's future-jacket sleeves self-adjusting) were cut off because of it. Universal knew of the problem before the DVD hit the shelves, but they wanted the Xmas revenue....soon after the release, they offered a replacement program for those who wanted fixed DVDs. They just started sending the replacements

Huh? No, the widescreen version was messed up. That's why they sent out replacements. But how they messed up I'll never know. In the words of the Simpsons nerd, "I hope someone got fired for that one."
If the full screen version was messed up beyond how it is by definition, they wouldn't need to send out replacements because the people who buy that version wouldn't know or care......

Surpirsed there's some that don't know.
I was surprised I got my replacement copies on the 7th, yet I thought it would've taken longer as I sent my DVDs in around the middle of March. At least I got what I wanted.
