Simpsons killed Family Guy

So Joel Cohen(writer and coproducer of Simpsons)and Tim Long (writer and co executive producer) are speaking in Toronto yesterday, and Family Guy comes up. Neither can disguise their contempt for the show. The evening also makes it evident that depite rumors to the contrary, The Simpons will be around for years to come. This prompts me to devise the following theory: The Simpsons have not been able to touch Family Guy in terms of quality ever since FG came on the air, and they know it. Fox went to the Simpsons to secure them for a long term run and Simpsons response was this: We're the only moneymakers you have. We bring you billions in revenue worldwide. You want us long term? Kill Family Guy. Thoughts?

Besides the Simpsons have had their glory days I think FG would just grab the flag from them and carry on, If I were the simpsons producers I would ask fox to make a lineup of Simpsons, Futurama, and family guy back to back to back, that would be truly nice. That woujld be a good lineup... Mostly if they replaced the Simpsons and the Futurama episodes with some Family Guy episodes...

NBC wouldn't be able to beat that even if they killed off every character of Friends, in the same episode, in some kind of horrid bloody massacre. (ok.. I'd switch to that during commercials... but not a second more...)

In some respects, but Futurama will be on the air for at least another year.

I still think it should be:

    7:30 King Of The Kill
    8:00 Simpsons
    8:30 Futurama
    9:00 Family Guy
    9:30 Malcom In The Middle

(and not because I think Malcolm is some great show, but more because I like it MUCH better than KotH, and it means I can watch my three favorite shows without interruption.

The question was asked whether Family Guy was forcing the Simpsons to improve its quality...the reply was condescending chuckles..."You mean the CANCELLED Family Guy?...Well, that show only demonstrated that ripping off the Simpsons is harder than it looks..." FG was also alluded to later in the evening, I can't remember the exact context, but it was only referred to as "Another animated show that we previously mentioned which is now cancelled."
