Boycott syndicated Family Guy reruns!!

Unless they're on the Cartoon Network.

I watched the Clinton episode twice in the past week, once on a local independent, and once on Cartoon. The local station cut out maybe a third of the jokes. When I saw it again a couple days later on Cartoon Network, I remember thinking, "Why does this seem so familiar but is now funny?"

Then I realized what the deal was. I mean, c'mon, the economies going in the tank--they're not going to recoup their syndication fees with *more* commercials! Have Obama pass a law about showing them in their entirety. If not, we stop watching!

You've learned a lesson fans of "The Simpsons" have known for the past 14 years.

My advice: buy the DVDs. (That's "buy" the DVDs, as opposed to "download illegal copies". The minute Fox thinks there's no money in DVDs because of illegal copying, they do with FG what they did with The Simpsons - withhold all new episodes from DVDs until they air for something like eight years in syndication.)

B. The stations don't edit the episodes. 20th TV does it for them. The stations either show the edited episodes or don't show it at all.

You sure? Cause I'm pretty sure that's the Cartoon Network I'm looking at where it says "Cartoon Network". :) It's the Adult Swim part of the Cartoon Network, but it's still the cartoon network, right?

I didn't say "Family Guy" isn't seen on the Cartoon Network. I said the syndicated episodes aren't shown on the Cartoon Network. Obviously they are different versions which is what you pointed out. In addition, the term "syndication" means a local station buying the rights to the episodes and showing them whenever they want. This doesn't include broadcast by a network (a large part or all of the country seeing the same thing at the same time) which is what the Cartoon Network is.
