Family Guy (and Futurama) is joining TBS beginning next week at 2 PM. AOL Time Warner must love these shows to put them on their superstation which reaches every home in America and Canada.

it's a superstation. a single TV station (their call sign is WTBS) that broadcasts out to the whole country. like WGN.

The absence of a TV set in any particular home does not prevent the signal from getting there. You just don't have the means for watching it. I don't know why you're being anal about this.

Heh, I believe they're still operating TBS as a TV station in Atlanta on ch. 17. Too bad the whole concept of "Superstation" just seems to have fallen off the wayside within the past decade (thanks to the FCC and other crap that occurred over the years).

the only shows TBS shows that are edited for time are shows that go through the local TV station syndication (Friends, Seinfeld, Drew Carey, and so on). since Futurama and FG are non-exclusive cable syndication shows, the syndicator (20th Television) doesn't have to edit them for time. any editing done is done by the network.

There is no "network" involved here. I am not aware of any syndicator that delivers its shows in time-compressed form. I have, in the past, seen TBS time compress just about every program they had, including movies.
TNT routinely removes random frames from it's shows like Law & Order and ER so they can squeeze an extra commercial into the hour. Disgusts me.

TBS is the perfect place to get the Family Guy Movie that we all want. You have the normal croud there...(No offence CN watchers). Just look how popular Lois and Clark got after the ENDLESS reruns. Charmed, Pretender, (lesser degree X-Files).
Now it would be funny if FG became a run-away hit and fox starts airing it at after the simpsons on syndication.
I personally don't care if they cut it to shreads...I'm so used to it with the simpsons in syndication.
If if they do cut them...Fan's that came from the show being on TBS will buy the DVD's and they will have extra treats when they watch them. Much like all the extra scenes that they add when you watch any of the naked gun movies on TV. I have those movies on DVD but the TV versions are longer and its fun to see the stuff they cut out of the movie.
