In which episode of FG did they make fun of speed racer...I cant seem to remember...or am I just on crack here...

I never learned the title, but it was the one where Chris wants out of the scouts, and he gets kicked out shortly after the soap box race.

Thanks. I thought that whole speed racer joke was sooo funny. This show is the best there is in, Huh's? and I cant believe they got away with that. If Fox stuck by married with children back in the day, they can take the heat for FG. Come on Fox is the network known for its "Controversial" shows...

Yup. You know what's funny? :hates to say this cause Ratboy is gonna lose it: The Simpsosn took part of that from Family Guy. I just got a copy of the episode where Bart sees his future from a guy at an Indian casino. Who was headlining there? Carrot Scalp, same as in Family Guy over a year before. Derp!

I can see how two different script writers could derive the same obvious joke without it being a case of creative theft. Although, what with "The Simpsons"' recent decline in quality, I suppose anything is possible.

I've noticed two of these instances from this season. The Jebus reference showed up in Family Guy first...when the Pope-a-palooza thing happened, and all the guards are sitting around reading the bible. "Huh, on page (such and such) its says Jebus. That's supposed to be Jesus, right?" and then the Carrot Scalp thing. The Simpsons stuff was done so near to when the Family Guy stuff was, it aroused my suspicions is all.

But didn't the Simpsons first spoof Lollapalooza?

That was differnt. I didn't see the episode in question, but from your account, it seems they may have been referring to a simple typo. In the Simpsons episode, Homer actually prayed to Jebus. (I don't know why, that was one of the dumbest subplots ever to grace a Simpsons episode.)

Sometimes ideas are copied unintentionally. Have you ever heard the Romantics' "What I Like About You" and John Cougar's "R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A." back to back? Same exact music, arrived at independently.

I never saw the whole simpsons episode on that one "Missionary Impossible" was it? Anyways, I heard the whole Jebus thing and I just died when I realized Family Guy had used the word first. It just struck me as kind of odd.

It happens, but its just weird that they came so close twice. And are on the same network.
