Theme Song

Just wondering, when Family Guy originaly aired oh so long ago, wasn't Stuey's original line in the theme song "F'in' cry?" as opposed to what it is now (Laugh and Cry?) Of course I'm probably wrong...

Whether the original line was 'f'in' or 'laugh and' was the source of some debate, though now they have changed it to be clearly 'laugh and'.

I personally think that they had always intended it to be 'laugh and cry', but so many people mistook it that they made the change. Of course, it's possible that they were forced to soften it by FOX or something, but I doubt it. (F'in seems rather tame compared to what else is allowed in the show)

But then again, south park has taught us that prudes only care about banning naughty words, rather than, say, violence or gore.

Personally, I have never heard it as "f'in cry", and I've watched the show since the first episode. Someone once posted a "rough cut" of the theme (sorry I don't have the link), which was an early version before vocal processing was added, and it was clearly "laugh and cry" in that version too.

Captions are just typed up by people watching and are very often full of mistakes. Better than nothing if you can't hear for whatever reason, but not to be trusted, really.
