Just got back from FG live and I found it to be a lot of fun. Seth came out with an enormous amount of fog in the background for some reason, and gave a cool speech about how the show was resurrected and how much it meant to him that the fans supported him. He then said that they would be going through a reading of a script from an episode tonight (see below for SPOILER info, in case anyone in NY will be going). He then introduced the cast, and they started the read through. Seth Greene was drinking a Corona, and seemed to be a little drunk, but definitely having fun. The reading was great, as seeing them doing the voices was a different perspective, and there was some ad-libing. It was a little disorganized at first, with everyone cheering when a new voice came on. I felt bad for Mila Kunis, as no one really applauded for her character's voice (which of course is simply her normal voice).
After the read through, we got to see the first act of the first episode coming up May 1st. It was absolutely hysterical, and didn't seem a bit altered under the "new" FCC crap guidelines. They went right back at it, and didn't seem to miss a beat. The crowd was cheering for more, but that was all they showed.
Then came the Q & A period. I was amazed at how dumb some of the questions were. One guy asked what "Pop a deuce" means, when he totally misunderstood it as Stewie saying, "What the deuce???" This, of course, is what Sherlock Holmes used to say. Then, some guy got up there and began rambling on and on about how he wanted Seth Greene to wish Sarah Michelle Gellar a happy birthday, and that he had gifts for each of them to welcome them back. This guy really seemd lost and had no relevant question. Whatever he gave them, they did not pick it up. There were a couple ok questions, with the obligatory "Effin cry" vs. "Laugh 'n cry", but in general, nothing spectacular asked. (They only took about 6 questions, and the mics were mobbed!!!)
That was about it. All in all, a great time and a lot of fun. If anyone has a chance to check it out in NY at the end of the month, it is DEFINITELY worth the 75 bucks or so.
