i love the Simpsons but i think Family Guy is miles better and probably the best comedy since the Young Ones!!!

I agree, FG is much better than The Simpsons lately. The problem with Simpsons in the last series was that it seemed to be too concerned with fitting in special guest stars than actually being funny; sure, there were a few classic episodes last season, the Mr.X website thing for example, but FG is far more consistently funny for me though.
