IMO, the bar scene was hysterical ("Nicks suck, Jets suck, Mets suck . . . Krypton sucks") and Quagmire's call was yet another character-defining moment for him. ("911? It's Quagmire. Yeah. Yeah. It's caught in a window this time.") How could they have considered *not* renewing this . . .

I think I almost had a heart attack from laughing so hard at Stewie's basketball scene.

I thought I was the only one who _knew_ about Family Guy around my parts... Figured it was cut already (just another fine example of how the best shows get cut, "Stark Raving Mad" anyone?), until I started noticing these new summer episodes... which made me do a lookup, and now I find out that I've been missing this ng the whole time! Dang!

Stop by alt.binaries.mpeg occasionally. There are some kind posters there who actually post the whole video (and from there you can extract the wav or mp3). Unfortunately, the most recent episode just expired from the @home newservers ($#*%!& @home's lack of history) and I missed it myself.

Okay, he wasn't truncated, but the MP3 file is a bit non-standard, perhaps? Windows Media Player played it just fine, but my RealPlayer Plus truncated the audio at the end for some reason.

use winamp's diskwriter output plugin. all it does is take what would normally be played to the speakers and writes a wav instead. i should image it would work for VBR mp3s as well, at least in real time.

This particular MP3 was a variable bit rate that may have been slightly corrupted...who knows? Windows Media Player would play it correctly, but RealPlayer Plus truncated the last 1/4 or so. And wavking's converter converted it to WAV, but it was cut off at the end as well. Nero's encoder/decoder was the only program I found that could handle the conversion correctly; I did not try programs that simply captured output to speakers, etc., as I felt that would be giving up too much quality.
