true, Morpheus does offer smaller file's but I can convert it to Hi res then Convert it to Hi-def Real Video

but if it was compressed once (to readmedia), you cant make it like the original because a lot of the information was lost. try ripping an audio track, compressing it to MP3, then converting it back to a WAV. even though it's the same size as the original, it sounds like crap in comparison. converting a small RM to a large MPG does nothing but add useless filler to make it a bigger size; the quality is still the same as the RM (ie, bad).

This is too funny to not comment on. I don't think I'll bother trying to explain why this is so dumb, though. Perhaps everyone should post the episodes at 1 pixel X 1 pixel and then we can all simply convert them to a higher resolution format. I'm going to convert mine to 1600x1200 so that I can use my monitor to its full potential. That will work, right?

the process you described has an unnecessary middle step; just convert it straight to RM. the RM format has a specified bitrate, and no matter what you do before it gets to that, the end result will be the same.

MP3 is just fine. human voices can usually go as low as 64Kbps and sound perfectly fine. might as well make it mono, too, it will cut the size in half, and with this show you don't really gain anything with stereo.

another analogy that might make more sense: blow up a photograph. it may become bigger in size, but it doesnt let you see any more detail than the original.
