Multimedia family guy group, at home changing to Cox, etc

I don't get the multimedia family guy groups in my @home feed. However, It might be moot to mail them to get them since I think at the present time I'm still using excite@home basically. Soon, in my area, I'll have pretty much the same service but be on Cox@home fully (they are switching over soon and I'll be receiving an "idiot" conversion pack in the mail of stuff that I don't need ;) , Ip address will change of course and will have to get a new email address)

So am I right in my assumption that in all liklihood my news groups will totally change at that time so requesting now would be moot? Is anyone else currently on cox@home thinking the same thing?

I already switched mine from @home to Shaw.ca, and its the same ones, although I never got the other groups for FG, just this one. nothing really changes with the @ home bankruptcy. just email and news address. hope that helps. Scott "dstep" wrote in message news:[email]...

Well I had @home under Charter Communications. Charter Switched me to their service and use Supernews's feeds for us. The speeds are ridiculously slow for some reason, but we have about 5 days retention on heavily used groups, a lot more groups and a lot better as far as completeness.

I'm still @home with Cox in RI I'm still waiting on that ups delivery for the change over to what they have said will be Cox.net. They also mentioned that our usenet server will also change. I hope it is something better then this junk server. Almost anything could be better then this.

When I had Verizon dsl, there usenet was awesome and att's worldnet is great too.

I use Visi.com, they are local ISP and they have best news servers I've ever seen. I have DSL, but have kept an account with them for the email address and news server. They have a really good admin.

No, this isn't an ad, and I don't work for them, I'm just a very satisfied customer. I'm just pointing out that you may want to try a local ISP. You can get the most limited account because you don't have to dial-up... It seems the big ones are shitty, but perhaps I don't have enough experience with them...

That's also the reason I don't want to switch to cable... At the present time, you're locked in with one big lousy service provider, unlike DSL where you can pick... Hopefully that will change sooner rather than later...
