DISAPPOINTED SO FAR

I know I might get slammed for this,but the first four episodes have been a bit of a disappointment.I feel the show is at it's best when Stewie and Brian have a big part in the show.The other characters don't really do much for me.The episode that all others have to live up to in my mind is "Road to Rhode Island".To me that was the funniest of all time.That one offered great writing and some of the most memorable lines for me.I feel if the rest of what we see this season is on par with the first four,the show won't see another season.

Why'd you like the show in the first place? The show's always been about the entire family....some episodes are more focused on certain characters than others. Peter's the hub of the show...without his ignorant buffoonery, would Brian's deadpan logic or Stewies genious work as well? Stewie and Brian are great, but Peter's hilarious, the neighbors are great, especially Quagmire, Lois has more to her than most TV moms. Chris and Meg get a little more focus in third season w/ "Kiss Seen Around the World" and "To Love and Die in Dixie"

Anyway, if you're a Stewie/Brian fan, you're going to like "Emission Impossible", "Brian Wallows and Peter's Swallows", "Screwed the Pooch", "Stuck Together Torn Apart", "From Method To Madness", and "Road to Europe".

I was attracted to the humor of the two characters I mentioned.I guess that's why I don't think every episode is great.I guess the stuff that is written for Stewie and Brian appeal to my type of humor.I will look forward to the episodes you mentioned.

I'm sorry,but I don't have blind loyalty to much of anything.Shows suffer sometimes and won't always maintain a level of earlier shows. I am a huge MST3K fan,but in my opinion the show was not as good after Joel Hodgson left.I am willing to criticize that which I like or love if I don't think it lives up to past performances. I like Family Guy,but it's one of those shows that is hit or miss for me.I think it does more things well then not and I think that there is alot of clever writing on the show.I just can't say that every show makes me double over with laughter.

I beg to defer when I watch the show with friends we are in tears! I can't say they are more timid since they still use alot of adult humor but what I get a kick out of is the reference to the nostalgaic t.v. shows I used to watch when I was younger specially the 80s stuff ex. Who's the boss. I like the new season and can't wait for more!
