Yeah, I think he mentions in one of the commentaries about drawing the joke out so long that it becomes absurd - like when Peter hurts his knee in the "Willy Wonka" episode...although, you gotta admire Quag's "staying power"! :-)

yes that was a long drawn out joke, BUT Peter makes us(or me at least) laugh again during the joke when everybody has snuck out, he sneaks back in to get his beer

One of my faves was just a passing line from "E. Peterbus Unum":

After the US government wildly misses Peter's house at point-blank range with a huge missile (oh, the irony), it flies through Quagmire's living room roof. He glances up and says, "To answer your question, something like that." Now THAT is a beautiful line!

My favourite Quagmire bit never made it into the series, but it's included with the deleted scenes animatics in the new DVD set. This was the jewel of these deleted scenes - I nearly bust a gut laughing at it. Just in case some would rather see it for themselves, but haven't yet, here's some spoiler space:

This scene happens during Peter and Lois' trial separation in "Stuck Together, Torn Apart". More specifically, it shows Quagmire's date with Lois. First, they are shown on a glass-bottom-boat ride. Quagmire jumps overboard and gets under the boat to see up Lois' dress, but Lois moves away, and a Scotsman in a kilt stands just above where he's looking, prompting a horrified reaction from Quagmire. Then the scene cuts to a roller coaster ride. Just as Lois and Quagmire hit the top of a loop, Quagmire falls out of the car, and lands in the lap of the same Scotsman, so that his head is up the kilt of the Scotsman. Same horrified reaction.

To me, this scene alone is worth buying the DVD for.

How much extra features is on the US dvds ...... what is there etc?
