Happy 150th episode, Family Guy!!

The often-controversial cartoon is once again coming under attack for its most recent, very special episode called Brian and Stewie, where Brian is cajoled by the infant into eating his poop, and then subsequent vom!

Tim Winter, the President of The Parents Television Council, says:

"It seems as though 'Family Guy' creator, Seth MacFarlane, carefully reviewed the legal definition of broadcast indecency and set out to violate it as literally as he could. Given the patently offensive depictions of one character eating excrement out of a diaper, then eating vomit, and finally licking the remaining excrement from a baby's bottom — while the baby expresses physical gratification from having his bottom licked — we believe that the broadcast decency law has been broken. We will also hold publicly accountable the corporate sponsors which underwrote this feces-eating broadcast, ironically a number of which were restaurants."

We're sure it's only a matter of time before the FCC files an official complaint!

Not that it's a shocker!

We couldn't even sit through the entire episode! It's pretty rough.

Side note: did the PTC complain about the visualized depiction of supplying a baby with alcohol or was the complaint limited to whining about the dog doing things that dogs actually do in real life? Did the PTC even complain about the premise of keeping a gun around just in case a character decides that they 'cannot take it anymore'?

To be quite honest, although I'm not a fan of McFarlane's current projects (or a lot of the animated fare that's currently available), I'm not quite sure that *any* of us would be willing to suggest/produce a suitable replacement. It *would* be nice to see something that treats its prime-time audience like the thinking reasoning adults that it's composed of but, with the current crop of lawsuit-happy weasels running the proverbial 'henhouse', a lot of studio 'chickens' are running around with their heads cut off (if not nervously waiting for it to happen). 9_9

Until we're able to swing our (heavily ground) axes with impunity, television will continue to be an ever expanding wasteland with a few wild flowers struggling piteously to survive upon its surface.

IMHO one of the running gags on FG is that in spite of attending Brown <no snickers there!>, having a balanced stock portfolio and being intelligent, Brian's also a dog, thus, he does dog things, e.g., eating vomit and/or poo. Remember his line after he vomited at the school dance when he was Meg's escort?

Stopped watching Family Guy when Seth MacFarlane, felt it necessary to put his $0.02 worth of comment about Arizona's immigration law. I kinda miss American Dad, especially 'Roger the Alien', but it is a boycott, and I guess that I just have to live without it.
