It's the network trying its best to kill what meager audience the show is still drawing.

It makes no sense now, but when they decide to pull the plug, you'll see weak ratings will be the main reason. They won't mention scheduling changes, they'll just point to the numbers. Or the lack of numbers, as the case may be.

As much as Dave may be just a troll in a newsgroup of a show he doesn't like, the guy has a point. Fox is trying to kill Family Guy, and I'm doubting there's much we can do about it but savor the episode(s?) we have left.

Well, I quite like MITM (sorry if that puts me in the minority here). Titus is weak, and Greed is the stuff bad nightmares are made of. I can just see Chuck W. holding $25,000 of cash saying, "Well Bob, it's up to you. Your team can go for the $500,000 based on the next question whose category is 'Stuff', or you can take this....this....ah fuck it." Then flying out the stage door with the cash.

I love Family Guy. With the exception of "Sex & The City", it's the only one of my favorite shows that's giving me new episodes in the summer. But tomorrow night when a new episode is being aired, I'll be watching CBS.

Of course if I didn't have a VCR, I probably wouldn't be.

Still, I'm defecting from the hoping-against-hope crowd that had faith in the show's survival. I'm looking at my Family Guy calendar, pretty sure that I'll be enjoying the gags on paper longer than I will on my TV screen.

No he doesn't. He is merely speculating and he is wrong. Fox has made mistakes, and this latest scheduling issue is probably one of them, but they are thinking that they don't want to waste an episode against the historically high-rated (especially teens) All-Star Game. To them, Survivor was the lesser of two evils. Ridiculous, I know, but it's hardly a matter of wanting to kill the show. See Gail Berman's comments in the LA Times yesterday to see what Fox is really thinking, and count on the fact that FG will be on the air for a long, long time.

I agree w/you there...it does sort of bug me that a player can end up going home w/nothing for all his/her hard work, while Millionaire offers a guaranteed $1K or $32K, depending on how far you go.

As for Chuck's waving around the "bribery" money, that's how they make it more tempting...as a contestant, you'd probably be thinking "Man, that $25K is enticing...but I think I have all the right answers to the question...should I take the sure thing and quit, or keep going?"

Most game shows a rip offs of game shows from the 50s anyway. Those that aren't seem to come from the UK but they could be rip offs of 50s or 60s British TV for all we know.

i have nothing against the actors, which are all really great with the exception of 'reese' and dewey who arent really critical actors anyway, i have a problem with the scripts. there is hardly ever anything that is really funny. the best episode had to of been the battle bots episode, but only because the dad's involvement. another thing that really drives me nuts is the way malcolm treats being smart as such a burden, like he hates being smart. i realize this is the point of the show (hence the title), but its like anorexic people who think they are fat. they can all go f*ck themselves. anyway, thats just my view - wrong or right.

The trip to the water theme park had me on the floor laughing. The way the kids were constantly trying to get back at each other was funny because it was realistic. I remember episodes from my own childhood that ran along similar lines, only without the disastrous results seen on the show.

But that's normal and natural. If you were pulled from your regular classes and placed in a gifted program when you were in grade school, you'd have some idea just how much of a burden being smarter than your peer group can be, and at times you'd give *anything* to be "normal" like the other kids. Believe it.

I think the title refers to the fact that Malcolm has older and younger siblings.

Gotta go with 'wrong' in this one. Your opinion belies a marked lack of understanding of what causes and perpetuates eating disorders. Don't take this as an insult, it's just that you probably never learned much about psychology. Me, I don't know jack shit about nuclear science, and any opinion I express on that subject will probably be seen by people who understand that field the same way I see your opinion of anorexia.

believe it or not, ive had this experience. i wasnt pulled from my class altogether, but i was pulled out of my class for a few hours a day to go to the "special" class and i was away from all my other peers. i was treated no different, if anything, i got a few more friends as they were curious to know what kinda stuff i got to do all the time.

you dont think this title has alternative meanings? the middle between two siblings. in between right and wrong. in between "normal" and "genius". etc.

what makes my opinion wrong? you dont explain it at all. it is true i know shit about eating dirorders, but it is my belief that it is a HUGE insult to anyone heavyset when a 90 pound stick announces he/she's so fat and is embarassed to show their face. if he's so embarassed about being smart, imagine being one of the special ed kids. he should be thankful for what he's got.

I was more like Malcolm. In the regular class, I was always the first one done. With everything. They said I wasn't being challenged. Apparently not being challenged meant I wasn't give enough homework. And I was treated by my brothers pretty much the way Malcolm is treated by his. My older brother used to call me Professor. This, when I was 10 and he was 12.

It's possible, but I don't think you're suppsed to read too much into a TV show title, especially if the basic premise coincides with the more obvious interpretation.

It's not an insult at all. We're talking about a sickness of the brain. And any overweight person who feels offended by comments made by an emaciated "stick figure" has his/her own issues to work out.

But he's like 12 years old. That's not exactly the best age for the sort of reflection you're talking about.

Are you an only child?

Me, I'm the 2nd of three kids, all boys. And MITM is hysterically funny because much of what happens on that show rings true. It's like how the National Lampoon vacation movies are so much funnier if you've actually taken summer vacation trips with your family. I see a lot of my own family in the Griswolds and MITM is similar in that respect. Many little throwaway jokes are much funnier to me because they remind me of my own childhood and those old memories are priceless. That's probably why the show is so popular with the viewing public too.

maybe you pinned it. i hate the show because i cant relate to any of it. it is supposed to be the dysfunctional family of the 21st century and i was raised in a not perfect, but not dysfunctional family. but you mention all the griswold movies which are absolutely hilarious, but they arent really dysfunctional, they are just burdened with bad luck. and married with children was also a great show which is very similar to the setup malcolm is trying to take. i guess thats why malcolm and titus are popular, because many people can relate to them.. but i cant.

As a rule, the more people can relate to a show, the more popular/successful the show will be. When someone sets out to create a show that few people will relate to, he's doing all he can to insure his own demise.

I am. When I do turn the TV on Sunday nights, I like to watch MitM. It has its moments. The writers consistently show that all six of them are twisted in their own right. Plus it is nice to see TV shows that concentrate on "guy stuff" for a change. No bratty sisters! Plus I have the hots for Jane Kaczmarek or whatever her name is.
