"Aka "The Rainbow Man" as he was wearing that colourful Afro wig. He used to pop up constantly in the background of televised US sporting events since the late 70s. He started to hold up signs (most frequently "John 3:16") in the early 80s. Before that his only "trademark" was the rainbow wig. Stewart was parodied on popular TV shows, in popular cartoons etc. In the early 90s he set stink bombs in churches, sports events and other places. In 1992 he was convicted to three life sentences for kidnapping since he held three people hostage in an LA airport hotel to get a press conference."
