I actually thought the doctor bit worked better the longer they extended it. It was mildly funny at first, but then the fact that it went on too long became the joke. I do think the cup-and-ball thing was drawn out a little too long, but it was still amusing. And the fat guys farting was definitely run into the ground.

In disagreement with you on that one. The fat guys snacking, wheezing, belching and farting went on just the right length of time. I was laughing so hard I had to pause it three times. I seriously thought I was going to crap and piss myself. Funniest animated gag since Homer fell down the cliff repeatedly in an early Simpsons episode.

I will agree with you on your other point, however. I think that scene with Homer falling (twice) into Springfield Gorge remains one of the funniest bits I've ever seen on TV. Homer falling a third time would have been overkill. Having him fall on his own, then as a result of paramedic incompetence...hilarious!
