I really don't think Family Guy is over yet..

I mean really, as of now I am having doubts that Season 3 is the last season ever to be made of Family Guy.

My points of evidence?

1. Fox promotes Stewie for Governor: Meaning that they are still giving FG characters attention.

2. Stewie on the emmy's anyone?: Again, showing that the shows and characters still have life.

3. The fact that there is still a HUGE FANBASE, the incredible DVD sales prove this; surely Fox would get some money out of a few more seasons?

4. Family Guy the movie: Yes we are going to be getting FG movie which again proves that FG is far from over still.

Hard to believe that with all the attention the show has been getting that Season 3 will be the last season. IMO there will be a few more, but maybe they will be a straight to DVD thing like the Movie. If not? Atleast FG ended while it was ahead, unlike what's happening with the Simpsons.

You have to weigh the costs of making new episodes against the profits they would make. How many sets of the DVDs has Fox sold, anyway - and how many of "Futurama", which was also cancelled with pretty much no chance of Fox bringing it back?

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the reasons FG kept getting cancelled was because too many (insert adjective here) parents complained about the show's time slot, which, if I remember correctly, was always before 9:00. Remember, Fox actually withheld the second Futurama Christmas episode because of the show's time slot. There's no way it's getting on next to "The Simpsons", especially at 7:30. (Besides, being moved around from one time slot to another apparently didn't hurt "King of the Hill" any - Sunday, then Tuesday, then back to Sunday at 8:30, then Sunday at 7:30, then back to 8:30, and now back to 7:30.) However, the Sunday 9:30 time slot might be the perfect place for FG; it's on after one of Fox's popular shows ("Malcolm in the Middle"), it's late enough so most younger kids would be asleep by then, and it's popular enough to stay on, unlike a few of Fox's recent attempts to fill that time slot (and from the looks of the one clip I've seen, "Arrested Development" will be lucky to last into February).

Er, if that was true, UPN or WB would have picked it up by now. You have to remember what it costs to make just one episode.

Nope.

You totally miss the thought boat. The DVD's are SELLING THEMSELVES, people who liked the show are getting the DVD's. Fox doesn't need to advertise anything at all, because noone will go out and pay 40 dollars for the DVD of a show they haven't seen.

You also forgot about the insane ratings on Adult Swim. Like I said, there IS money to be made for Fox on Family guy and new seasons. There is no reason why they won't make more, they would get very nice ratings; and more DVD's to sell.

FG is far from over.
