I was just thinking, now this is just an idea, but what if the internet led to the FG downfall. I know of a few occations when I skipped viewing a show because I knew I could just DL it later. I would be willing to bet that a lot of people do this (maybe not DL, but intend to). It's just an idea, but if ratings were the problem, that is certainly one possibility.

I do this also when I cannot watch the show on time, but I also wrote a letter to fox letting them know I am a big fan so that they know there are viewers out there. We have to send in tons of letters/e-mail. Unlikely. Unless your a Nielsen family, it doesn't matter. The amount of Nielsens that cross over to the avid NG dler is negligible at most.

Ignoring the fact that you probably don't have a Nielson box, it probably doesn't have that much of an impact. The availability of the shows on the net give the show more publicity if anything. The number of people who skip watching the show because they know they can dl it later is probably cancelled out by the number of people who never saw the show on Fox and discovered it via the internet, and have been watching the recent episodes, i.e. me.
