Abstract: Fox has substituted one original episode of Family Guy for another on Sunday, the debut of its new fall season lineup that night, because the episode scheduled to air contained a �couple� references to a hurricane. �Out of sensitivity to what happened, we�re moving it back a couple weeks,� a Fox spokesman told B&C.
how typical - political/social correctness - after few months some Jay Leno or whomever else will make jokes about bodies drifting in New Orleans...and everything will be back in order - working for the higher good of rising GDP, watching tv, buying buying buying........
I heard business is starting to pick up in the French Quarter now that the regulars are starting to drift back in.

A red cross leader visited New Orlenes and spoke with some volunteers.
"You're doing a great job here and you're work is highly appreciated"
he says to the first guy, "where you from?" he asks. The man replies
"Boston." "What state is that in?" he asks. The man replies
"Massachusettes." Moving on to the next guy, he once again shows
his appreciation for his efforts and asks where he is from. The man
replies "Dallas." The leader then asks;"what state is that in?," and
the guy replies "Texas." Moving on to the third guy, a European, he
once again shows his appreciation and asks where he's from. The guy
replies "Venice." The leader asks; "what state is that in?" to which
the man replies; "Pretty much similar to this!"

The sad thing is, I think the typical Family Guy audience is smart enough to realize how long it takes to make an episode and that any hurricane reference this soon after Katrina is a coincidence since the episode was completed a while ago, but by having Fox delay its airing, the later airing will make it seem the reference was added AFTER Katrina, thereby making FG look like they are acknowledging it instead of it being a coincidence. Sigh.
TPTB at FOX are fuck-ups. They fucked up Futurama BIG TIME (scheduling the episodes to air right after football, knowing football ALWAYS runs late, thereby pre-empting any show within an hour afterwards) and they messed with FG, luckily we got FG back.....
It's hardly "fucking with the show" ...if you want to get technical, "Peter's Got Woods" was supposed to air first anyway. Nothing's gonna get cut out or altered in "Perfect Castaway"...so it's all good.
Not only that, but the updated schedules I've seen say it will air just one week after originally scheduled, on 9/18, instead of the "couple of weeks" originally mentioned. Maybe Fox thinks everybody who might complain will be too busy watching the Emmy Awards to notice?
It's really not that big a deal. What happened to New Orleans and surrounding areas was terrible. If Fox wants to shuffle around some episodes out of respect for the victims, then so be it. It's just a cartoon. Nothing to get worked up about.
True, but still, this remindes me of sick situation especially here in Poland just before and after Pope died...full churches again...but just for few weeks....
