Wow, when I first checked the list I thought I might have something useful to add, but as it turns out I can't even be bothered to tune in to Fox most of the time...who knew?
Have you guys ever noticed that UPN seemed to have a nasty habit of cancelling the really good shows and opt to keep the really bad shows. A lot of UPN's programming stunk. I cannot imagine how a single network can have so many "black sitcoms." By that, I mean television comedies in which the characters are black. UPN had a ton of them. I am not trying to sound racist or anything. I don't mind a good comedy. During the 1980s and early 1990s, there were many good comedies. Brian and Stewie sing some of the themes to them on that "Live in Vegas" CD. I guess I prefered the ones that revolved around family values. This may sound corny, but my favorite sitcom of all time was "Full House."
Granted, UPN did have some really bad shows. However, there were some that seemed somewhat promising that UPN decided not to keep.
How about what they did to Enterprise? They spent 3 years killing that show to the point that most fans wanted it cancelled. Then they bring in a new producer and the show's quality increases exponentially with every new 4th season episode. Only then do they announce it's cancellation.
I always got a kick out of Peter at the TV studio walking past monitors showing the different fare on each network, with a plotted plant on a shelf representing UPN.
That's what I have heard as well. Unfortunately, the final episode was written by Berman and Bragga (or Beavis and Butt-Head, as they are called by die-hards). From what I have read about the finale, those two lunatics should be placed on leave.....

Apparently, the final episode of "Enterprise" will guest star Johnathan Franks and Mirina Sirtis reprising their "Next Generation" roles. It appears as though the entire series was a holodeck program expirenced by Riker and Troi on the Enterprise-D. Yes, I said Enterprise-D. This was merely a rumor. However, I believe it is now confirmed.
Most of the sites I've seen say that only the last episode (the signing of the original Federation treaty, and the decommissioning of Archer's Enterprise) will be a holographic simulation, and will be "actual events" at that (instead of a variation on "it was all a dream").
Then again, NG pushed a reset button of its own with its last movie, when they found "another Data" and not one person mentioned Lore.
wasn't there another Star Trek series that already did that? Well...only partially...the medical unit was a simulation run by someone, and a real person fell in love with one of the holographs, and was later told it was all a hologram?
Actually, Wonderfalls was in production before Joan of Arcadia. Then FOX got cold feet and moved it to be a mid-season replacement.
For many who actually watched the 4 episodes that aired, they found a show much different from Joan, one that had a nice dark, sarcastic edge to its stories.

And those that watched the 9 unaired episodes on DVD saw it develop an interesting mythology that was actually going somewhere. : :-Jay

Quintuplets was ass, but ARCtU was incredibly funny.
Another show killed before its time. Actually, killed DURING its time, because Fox butchered episodes and showed them out of order.
The last 2-3 before it was cancelled, the show was really starting to get good.
And this is where your opinion becomes a whole lot of not-valid. Such a great show. So horrendously buried in the summer so as to essentially guarantee that it wouldn't succeed.

I misunderstood that joke. I thought it meant, "Look how stupid the Fox programmers are, they cancelled FG and then actually approved this big, long string of craptacular bombs before they finally realized that FG was better than all of these shows."

I disagree with the phrase "craptacular bombs" in the case of a lot of those shows (just because people don't watch it doesn't mean it isn't good...witness Family Guy itself. You think it got canceled originally because it had high ratings?), but you didn't misunderstand the joke.
Ah, thanks. I didn't mean to prejudge those shows, I actually have not seen any of them. I should have called them "ratings bombs" because they failed to make good ratings... which of course doesn't mean they were all bad shows. I'm sure at least some of them were really good.
