I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

.par Parity files. These are not always necessary, but if a .rar file is bad, the .par can be used to repair it. To use .par files, get an app called "SmartPAR for Mac". At least I think that's what it's called.

Of course, if you don't have a Mac, you may need something else... Fluid Studio Software's RAID toolkit is probably the best Windows-based PAR application, though SmartPAR is also available (for me, SP takes up too high a percentage of system resources while running.)
